Peacefully, in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, on Saturday, December 18, 2004, Arthur Hugh Vanston Smyth, in his 92nd year, 3 Quebec Avenue, Tain (former Rector of Tain Royal Academy), beloved and loving husband of Anne, a much loved father of Alistair, Deborah and Anne, a devoted grandpa to his nine grandchildren and a dearly loved great-grandpa and father-in-la w. Very sadly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held in Tain Parish Church, on Thursday, December 23, at 1 p.m., thereafter to St. Duthus New Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations if so desired, may be given at service, for the Royal Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children or sent to Alasdair Rhind, Funeral Directors, Sutherland House, Bank Street, Tain.
