DONALDSON (Nairn) Peacefully, at `Seabank', 61 Seabank Road, Nairn, on Saturday, May 10, 2008, Kathleen May Donaldson (nee Stuart), aged 92 years. Widow of William, a loving and much loved sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Funeral service at her home, Seabank, 61 Seabank Road, Nairn, on Wednesday, May 14, at 12 noon, thereafter to Tomnahurich Cemetery, Inverness. All friends respectfully invited.

As I have only just learned of Kathleen's passing, I simply wanted to tell her family how sorry I am to hear the news. Of the many, wonderful Scottish people I met during my brief residence in Nairn during the 1970's, she was one I always associated with my beloved Nairn. Though only a teenager at the time, she invited me over for dinner one evening, along with a nephew of hers, as well, and it was there that I drank my first sherry and spent a lovely evening. She was the most gracious of hosts and a lovely, endearing neighbor to my family, especially to my 2 youngest brothers. We were foreigners, but she embraced us all as if we were as important as any of her dearest friends. I had hoped that I would return to Nairn one day, where she would have been one of the first people I would have wanted to visit. It saddens me enormously that I will not have that opportunity. She was a lovely, lovely lady and those of us who knew her will remember her always.
