THOMSON/MACKINNON (Aboyne) Suddenly but peacefully, at Aboyne Hospital, after a rapid decline, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Catherine (Cat) Jayne Thomson (nee MacKinnon), aged 51, Cadet Force Adult Volun- teer, Sergeant Instructor, Detachment Instructor Aboyne Detachment, Detachment Commander, Banchory, passed away surrounded by love and humour. Beloved mum to Stuart and Alexander and all her pets, dear friend to Abi, Elaine and Peter (Papa) Simpson, much loved niece and cousin, darling daughter to the late Sheila and Colour Sergeant Donald MacKinnon, she would have been the most devoted granny to Lachlan who was born sleeping. A dearly cherished member of her army family, great friend and respected colleague to many more. Funeral service in Baldarroch Crematorium, Crathes, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11.30am, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations, if desired, may be given to the Army Benevolent Fund. Please wear uniform if you wish, otherwise bright colours encouraged. There will be a video link available for those who cannot attend. Bikers who would like to join the cortege please gather on Huntly Road, Aboyne at 10am. A true angel taken far too soon. She touched and inspired so many lives, especially her young cadets. Sadly missed by so many, near and far.
