WEIR (Elrick) Peacefully, at ARI, on July 1, 2024, James Alexander (Sandy), aged 85 years. Retired Teacher, Powis Academy and Old Machar Academy. Dearly loved husband of the late Mary, much loved dad of Kevin and the late Gillian, father-in-law of Pamela, proud and devoted grandpa to Callum, Helena, Robbie and Arran and a dear brother, brother-in-law and friend to many. Funeral service on Friday, July 19, at Aberdeen Crematorium (West Chapel), at 2.45pm, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Please note date of funeral service. Family flowers only, however donations may be made at the exit of the chapel to Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.

I first met Sandy when he was the PT Physics at Powis. Some years later our paths crossed when I became PT Physics at Oldmachar Academy. Someone with a great sense of humour, loved by the pupils and who was a natural teacher. So very sad to hear the news.
