TIERNEY Suddenly, but peacefully, George Forsyth Tierney aged 81 years, passed away at A.R.I on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Doreen, loving dad to Clare and Grant, loving father-in-law to Ewan and Lesley, much loved and proud grandad of Eilidh, Oona, Edith and Perry, dear brother to Kath, also great friend and mentor to many. Funeral ceremony at Aberdeen Crematorium, Hazlehead (west chapel), on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 1.15pm. All friends respectfully invited. An Inspiration

George was a fixture at Aberdeen Squash and Racketball Club from before I ever started playing. I will remember him as an astute coach, a committed referee and tournament organiser, and a huge influence on my personal development. I use the same files and formats George gave me 10+ years ago. Honestly, the ideas George donated to the game have been an influence coast to coast throughout the UK. I’m sorry I couldn’t be at the funeral, but wanted to pay tribute to an amazing man and the legacy he’s left.
