PETRIE (Durris/Banchory) Ann and family would like to sincerely thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the support and expressions of sym- pathy given following the sudden passing of their beloved husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa Douglas. The family received a great many messages, cards, calls and visits which provided great comfort during this most sad of periods. Thanks are extended to the staff of Brian Smith Funeral Services with particular thanks to Jack Henderson for his sympathetic support, to Brian Petrie and all the staff of Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium, to the staff at Rosie's Florist in Banchory for a simply wonderful floral arrangement, one he as a keen gardener would have marvelled over. A heartfelt thanks to Heather Morrison MBE for performing a wonderful celebration of Doug's life at the Baldarroch Chapel and the interment blessing at Durris Kirkyard, to Shannon and the staff of Tarland Tearooms for an excellent funeral tea held at the Kirkton Hall in Durris and to the hall committee for the use of the hall, to the staff at Aberdeenshire Council for Doug's final resting place in such a perfect location. A special thanks to all those who attended the funeral service to celebrate Doug's life and donated generously. The sum of £955 raised in Doug's memory is to be donated to Cancer Research UK.
