Dearest Moira

Fiona MacKay

I wish to extend my greatest sympathies to Moira’s family at this tragic time. Moira and I worked together many years ago as EPs in Aberdeenshire. Her warmth and loving nature were a ray of sunshine when our teams would come together. Such sadness brings people and memories together. I was reminiscing with a really dear friend and close colleague Helen remembering a couple of stories of our antics with Moira and the laughs we had together when we worked on a project. One such really funny story was where Moira divulged to the comedian at a comedy club that we were all psychologists. As you can imagine, we were comedy fodder. I also remember her vivid and hilarious stories about preparing and undertaking her southern upland way adventures. Dearest Moira through our tears, our smiles will remain when we think so fondly of you. Rest in peace xx Fiona

Sending condolences to family

Sending my condolences to family. I'm unfortunately not able to attend the service so wanted to share my memories of Moira. I knew moira professionally and then as a friend . She helped me in my career at the start of my journey. Moira was a wonderful psychologist, helped many young educational psychologists throughout her own career. She was well respected and known as 'safe hands by all'. She had a warm and empathetic approach and always provided a quality service to children , school staff and families she worked with. I got the chance to work with moira for about 5 years and it was always great. I often made homemade soup and brought it in to try and get Moira to do some of my work for me but it didn't work. Moira and I became good friends and she helped me though difficult times professionally and personally , I'll always be grateful to have been a colleague and friend to moira. I will always remember moira as a hard working colleague but she always wanted to have discussions with colleagues at break times. Her family were so cherished by moira and I recall she would always talk about how proud she was of her 'boys'. Passing on my sincere condolences to family and apologies I cannot attend the service to pay my respects. I hope this message reflects how much a special and compassionate moira was to me and many others , best wishes , Colin Stewart , a friend and ex colleagues of Moira.
