JACK (Alford) Peacefully surrounded by his family at ARI, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, Frederick George (Freddie), aged 66 years (retired Sergeant Major, Gordon Highlanders). Beloved husband of the late Joyce Marshall, devoted dad to Laura and Kieran and their partners Ryan and Kathleen, proud grampa to Romie and Hallie and much loved by all his family. Funeral service at Howe Trinity Parish Church, Alford, on Monday, August 21, at 1pm; interment thereafter to Auchindoir Churchyard. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations, if desired, can be made at church door for Alford & District Royal British Legion chosen charities. Very sadly missed.

Dear Freddie's Family,
just browsing the internet last night and was so shocked and saddened to see that Freddie has passed away.
I served with Freddie in the Gordons in Singapore then Fort George where we both worked in the gymnasium as assistant physical training instructors and in Belfast when he left the gym and became a real soldier and gained his promotions! We met again later in his career in Germany. Freddie's infectious cheeryness made him very popular. He was an excellent PTI and set an example to me and others with his fitness, determination and competitiveness which in no small way contributed to my future career path in the Army Physical Training Corp.
I am so sorry for your loss of Freddie at such a young age.
