EDWARDS Peacefully, surrounded by his family at Jesmond Care Home, on Friday, March 10, 2023, after a "sair fecht", Mike, aged 76 years. Beloved husband of Pearl (Wood), much loved dad to Mike, Jim and Chris, grandad to Josh, Georgia, Niamh, Sam, Abi Cole and Blake, brother, uncle cousin and friend to many. Funeral service to be held on March 23, at Aberdeen Crematorium, Hazlehead (West Chapel), 1.15pm, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited and welcome wear a touch of red. Family flowers only please, but donations on behalf of Dementia Scotland. The family wish to express their gratitude to the staff of Jesmond for their respect, love and care of Mike and the family. It has been a huge comfort at this sad time. "Gone to the big kitchen in the sky"

Mike was a true character with many funny anecdotes especially in his refereeing years in junior and Highland league matches where it was always a joy to be in his company as a player and as a manager which I was, along with many thousands of others.
He was met with great fondness by all and loved to be in the company of footballers and fellow referees.
He will not only be remembered lovingly by Pearl and all the boys and their families but by all who came across him in his life a a chef, lecturer and referee.
He was a very popular man with all and is a great loss to us all.
I will remember him with great fondness and our lives are now that bit less without him.
He was a proud man and he leaves us with the same proudness having endured a tough time health wise these last years.
