McKANDIE (Drumblade) After a long illness, at Rothieden, Jubilee Hospital, Huntly, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, Peter Hay, aged 78 years (Ceilidh Tyme Band), beloved husband of Elma, dearly loved dad of Lorraine and Ruth, dear father-in-law to Derek and Calum, proud granda of Euan, also a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many. Funeral Service at Strathbogie Drumblade Church, Huntly, on Friday, June 10, at 1.30pm, thereafter to Huntly Cemetery. All friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only, donations in lieu, if desired, in aid of Friends of Jubilee Hospital, at Church door.

It was a lifetime ago but I will always cherish the times I spent with you all, in Ceilidh Tyme. The laughs we had, the shenanigans at the parties and halls we played across the NE. Peter’s facial expressions whenever Callum or me were daein’ something that wasn’t in time or tune with his strict guidelines. Oh to relive these happy days again, you treated me like family, all of you. You all called Peter ‘Dad’, such a lovely lovely man. What a shame we lost touch since I left to join the RAF. We thought we’d all live forever then. What a shame that Peter has suffered such a long illness. “Will-ya-geezah-slosh?” will be in my mind always. Thinking of you all and our happy Ceilidh Times.

So very sorry to hear the sad news about Peter. Some of the best nights of my life were spent at dances where Ceilidh Tyne were playing and I remember almost all of them - some I don't! He was a lovely man and will be missed by all his family and friends. Thinking of you all Richard Donald
