le GASSICK (Logie) The family of the late Steve and Sandy le Gassick wish to express their sincere thanks to John Chapman and all at Craig & Beverly Funeral Directors for their particular attention and support. Our thanks to Canon John Walker for conducting the graveside service, with double interment, and providing the glorious weather. Our gratitude to John Wallace who piped a wonderful rendition of 'Nut Brown Maiden' and Lorna at Floral Request for taking such care with the glorious floral arrangements, thanks also to the council staff on the day. Finally, thank you to all neighbours and friends for their support and for the many cards and messages we have received. The affection and respect in which our parents were regarded, by so many, has been a great source of comfort to us all.

It is with great sadness that I write this short tribute to Sandy and his good lady. We never physically met, however, we exchanged many e-mails and calls as he helped me research for my book about Fort Bridgewoods Y station. Sandy introduced me to many of the "schoolboys" who were trained for Y work at Fort Bridgewoods and eased the way for them to speak about their work and experiences. Sandy generously wrote the forward to my book as well as reading the various drafts and revisions. I am so proud to have known him and that I was able to tell the Fort Bridgewoods story before the years passed and their secret war was lost forever. God rest you both, I will treasure your friendship. Now a silent key.
