SIMPSON (Insch/Leslie) Alex/Sandy was his forename, An' bein' a fairmer wis his game, Hens, pigs an' a stirk or twa he did feed, Nae mare for him noo that he's deed. As in his dungers we've sent him on his way, Jist to be ready for the next day, Pastures new he can noo explore, Close to oor Mam for evermore. Oor funeral plans were in disarray, Nae handshak' nor yet a cup o' tae, But to those who watched the hearse go by, We appreciate your time to say goodbye. To doctors, nurses and carers too, We need to sae a big thankyou. We are grateful to Rev Dr K Gauld, For doric eulogy and words o' comfort we applaud, An', of course let's nae forget the rest, Wendy and Sean who helped and were the best. Dad crossed far Gadie rins near ilkey day, So thanks, the fiddler that tune he did play, The many messages that we got, By mail and phone, we had a lot. So thanks for thinkin' o' oor Dad, We guess you knew he was quite a lad. Fae Bill, Shona, Alan, Evie & families.
