MACKAY (Scrabster) Suddenly in his home in Scrabster on Saturday, March 7, 2020, Dr Calum, beloved husband of the late Norna. Loving father of Mairi, Anne, Iain and Lalage. Much loved grandfather of Ranald, Lalage, Rory, Elona, Calum, Calum and Finlay, and caring father-in-law of Pete, Steve and Jane. Funeral service within Thurso West Church on Saturday, March 14, 2020, service commencing at 12 noon to which all friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired may be given at the service in aid of the Scrabster R.N.L.I. Thereafter to private cremation.

I have fond memories of Calum and his Wife Nora - visiting them on a number of occassions through the 70's, 80's and 90's. I only found out earlier this year (2022) while visiting Thurso, of his passing while talking to friends and asking about him with the possibility of seeing him. He looked after my mother very well when she was having me and did manage to come and see me after I was born at home during a snow blizzard. Always kind and thoughtful and will be really missed. I just came across this tonight many months after the event. I was also unaware due to family estrangement that Norna had passed away. They were both absolutely wonderful people - kind, compassionate, caring and so comforting to me personally. I really wish I could have seen more of them in my life.
