To put into words what kind of woman Bett was is incredibly difficult. She wasn't just my friend's grandma; she was an incredibly brave, determined, strong, loving and caring soul. Time spent with Bett was time spent laughing. Whether she was miles away in New Zealand or if she was visiting her family in the UK, she always had time for me and would frequently ask about my love life and if I had managed to quit smoking yet. I will always remember our trip to Windsor Castle where it rained so much we returned to London without stepping one foot outside. Her response to the weather was, "Shall we just go home and have a glass of wine?"
I will truly cherish the time I spent with Bett, a wonderful woman who brought joy to so many. I will miss you Elizabeth Taylor.
Love always,
Craig
