CRUICKSHANK (Banchory) Peacefully after a long illness at home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, David Cruickshank (Dave) (formerly Broughton, Edinburgh), loving husband to Irene, a dear father to Caroline and Andrew, loving grandfather to Findlay and Heather, dear father-in-law to Euan and Beth, brother to Geri and dear friend to many. A celebration of David's life to be held in Baldarroch Crematorium, Crathes, on Tuesday, October 8, at 2.30pm, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations if so desired at the chapel exit door for Marie Curie.

Meet you on fiddlers green

First met David when I started working for ABB Seatec but it was not until i moved to Banchory a few years later that renewed our acquaintance when I found out we were both ex RN. We both served on the committee and righted many problems over a dram or 2 after meetings There has always been a good RN contingent on Remberance parades but we are getting fewer. Sorry I missed your passing David but you were the first person that came to mind when I saw the White Ensign at half mast yesterday. Rip Sir we’ll drink another tot when we meet on Fiddlers Green

I met David only days before I married his sister. He not only gave me his approval but he looked at me as if I had always been there. In a few short days he gave me a world of knowledge on how to live love and survive. He and his wife Irene always made me feel as though I've been part of his family. I will always miss him until I meet him again.
