Our sincerest condolences to the Hay family. We only had the pleasure of meeting Mr Hay once during a visit to Halifax but his humour and gentlemanly ways were very evident. May your fond memories give you comfort. Carolyn James & Wanda Murphy, Halifax, Nova Scotia

Old friend now left Elgin

Richard Donald

I was really sorry to hear about George's death. I always saw him as one of life's genuine gentlemen. He had natural manners and an easy grace with everyone he met. He was an island of calm and quiet reflection with a strong and gentle sense of humour. His passing will leave a gap in the fabric of life because he was so full of life. Sadly I cannot manage the funeral but I will think about George frequently during today as he made a big impression on me. Richard Donald [ex Elgin High Church]
