SCOTT (Rugby/Portsoy) Charlie Scott passed away peacefully on January 11, 2019 at the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby, loving and beloved husband of Rita, who died October 13, 2006 and his dear children Mhairi, Charles and Graham, his treasured grandchildren Calum and Hannah and many family and good friends. Charlie was born on June 28, 1927 to Harry and Isabella Scott (nee Grant) in the parish of Boyndie. Charlie was the last of four children - following Harry, Isobel and Mary into the Scott household. Harry Scott went on to join the Royal Air Force where he served in WW2 with distinction recognised by the award of the Distinguished Service Order and a Distinguished Flying Cross twice. Charlie was brought up at Nether Blairmaud near Portsoy where he attended school and made many lifelong friends. Although Charlie moved to Rugby in England in the 1950's with his wife Rita Mair, in his heart Portsoy was always his home. On his frequent visits to Portsoy, Charlie was often found with Harry, Edgar Mc Bain and their old pals. Charlie is returning to his home town of Portsoy for the last time. His funeral service will take place at the Church of Scotland, Portsoy on Monday, February 4, at 1pm to be followed by his burial in Portsoy cemetery. All family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please. Charlie would wish any charitable donations to go to the Limbless Association and can be donated at the church door.
