GARLAND (Nairn) Phyllis Garland, aged 85 years, of Cromarty View, Nairn, on September 14, 2018, whilst in the kindly care of Hebron House Nursing Home, Nairn. Phyllis was the dearly loved wife of Harry for almost 60 years and the precious mother of Joyce and Harry Jnr. She was a cherished mother-in-law to Bill and Diane and a doting grandma to Matthew, Kirsty, Mhairi and Iona and loving sister of Janey. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Scotland and a past president of Nairn Old Parish Church Woman's Guild. Her early interests saw her as a Brownie Brown Owl and Guide Commissioner in the Western Isles. As an adult she achieved her early ambition to be a teacher by qualifying in Home Economics at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. She was ever a smiley, friendly lady with many talents who will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Funeral to be held at Inverness Crematorium, on Friday, September 21, at 1 p.m., to which all friends are invited. Family flowers only, but donations in lieu, if desired, to Alzheimer Scotland.
