Helen MacLeod taught my daughter Charlotte the clarsach at Mary Erskine school. She was an inspiration, and Charlotte's love of this beautiful instrument is largely thanks to her. She was a fantastic and dedicated teacher; a huge loss to the clarsach community.

So very, very sorry to hear the tragic news about Helen. What a talented and lovely girl I remember her to be. She did so well with her music but had many talents one of which was a beautiful Highland Dancer. Fond memories of days in Skye at Miriam Smiths Dance classes and competitions.
Sending all our love and thoughts to Dolores, Roddy and Tina and Helen's partner David.

Today we are taking time to reflect on how fortunate we are. We have been privileged to have been taught the harp by Helen McLeod. Helen when we left Scotland taught us by Skype and face to face on the long trips we made to Edinburgh. Over the many years she was our teacher she became a family friend and stayed with us in Kent. We have many happy memories of our visits to her home in Edinburgh and our dogs meeting on Skype!!! Sadly Helen has died tragically in a car accident. Nothing can explain and justify to us how this could happen to a young talented musician and teacher. Helen was well known for her harp technique and this willl
live on in our playing. Helen advised us on how to be professional and helped us with musical advice when we started our harp duo. More than this she understood us as young musicians. ThankYou Helen for your time and dedication, laughter, fun and your beautiful music - you will always be in our thoughts Adel, Karina, Janet and Roger xx
