TREWIN (Maryculter)It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Professor Nigel Trewin, aged 73, on October 25, 2017, adored husband and best friend of Margie, loving father to Shari and Phil, much loved father-in-law to Simon, very special grandad to Rachael and Heather, and friend to so many. Funeral arrangements later.

I was shocked to hear the news; Nigel had always seemed younger than his years (the full head of hair helped).
Nigel was a huge encouragement to young students, and he helped kick-start my scientific career when I was an undergraduate at Aberdeen University in the 1970s. He had just arrived as a new, young lecturer, and was keen to teach and help students. I've valued our friendship over the years.
