Miss Henderson was by far my favourite teacher from primary school. She knew how to get the best out of her pupils, she was strict but fair. I was in her final class before she retired and still have the signed photograph of her presentation which I will always cherish. Finally, Miss Henderson's toffee apples and tablet were a thing if local legend at Hallowe'en, bairns queued round the block for a sample; however she always made you sing or do a bit of poetry before she handed over the samples! RIP Miss Henderson

Truly sad to hear this. Miss Henderson was my favourite teacher at Mount Pleasant, a true former of character. She laid foundations which have stood me in good stead throughout my life. I visited her at Mount Pleasant once after leaving and she was absolutely delighted to see me, waxing lyrical about me being a role model for the assembled class, when in truth I was simply following her lead. She certainly made a difference.
