WATSON (Kemnay) At Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, on Saturday, February 4, 2017, with his family by his side, after a long illness, bravely fought, John, aged 68 years. Beloved husband of Isobel, loving father of David, Lynsey and Laura and a doting grandfather to Eve. A Celebration of John's life will be held at Baldarroch Crematorium, Crathes on Monday, February 13 at 11.30am to which all friends are welcome. Family flowers only please but donations, in lieu, if desired, in aid of Myeloma UK, on exiting the chapel.

I worked with John on Thistle platform in 1985-7 in his Britoil days and joined up with him again in 2006 in Hess Denmark when he was looking for some HSE support and he had heard I had recently moved to Denmark. We also worked together more lately when John returned to Aberdeen to head up the Hess Aberdeen Team and I was supporting the regional drilling team. Have been receiving regular updates on John from one of my former colleagues since he was diagnosed and despite the ups and downs and new treatments the illness finally took its toll despite John's strength and family support. I had great respect for John and his experience, knowledge and leadership and it was a honor for him to ask me to join him again in Copenhagen in 2006 having myself left BP in 2002. He will be sadly missed but always remembered. My prayers and thoughts are with you Isabel (we met in Copenhagen) and your family at this sad time.
