HILDA GRANT Sadly, I forgot in the tears of the moment, to mention, in Hilda's notice of March 27th, my uncle Walter Gordon (Journalist). He was Hilda's youngest brother who passed away only a few years ago. She was deeply saddened by his untimely death. He was an ernourmous support when she fell originally, in 2007 and had a cardiac arrest. He popped up immediately as if by magic in coronary care, and continued thereafter to enhance her recovery with flowers and gifts. He is not forgotten. His family have also continued to be loyal friends to Hilda, Elaine and her family in more recent years. In The Cowdry Club I know that mum had a secretly happy and well looked after life, this was not always shared by my mum with me nor conveyed to the staff and her visitors. Finally, I am indebted to Ewen Gilchrist for his wise counsel, empathy and compassion throughout this families sad journey. Elaine
