MITCHELL (Gartly) Suddenly but peacefully, at home, on Monday, February 14, 2011, William (Bill), aged 81 years. A dearly loved husband of Pearl, a devoted dad of Billy, Sheila, Tricia and Doug and father-in-law, a loving and caring granda and great-granda. Funeral service in Noth Parish Church, Rhynie, on Monday, February 21, at 12.30 p.m., thereafter to Huntly Cemetery, to which all friends are respectfully invited. No callers please.

A send off for my Granda, Or Bill to most of you, The man that I grew up with, And most of you did to, A better man we’ll never meet, I’m gye near sure o’ this, A better example we’ll never see, Of happily wedded bliss, It bracks my heart to write this poem, Cause it feels like I’m saying goodbye, And every word that I write doon, Just maks me wint to cry, But my grandas never awa fae me, And he’s never awa fae you, The memory of a man like him stays, And this I know is true, Mine my granda in your thoughts, And hud him in your heart, And that’ll keep him living on, This why we’ll never part, He’s probably somewhy puffin, On his fags noo nae his chest, Newsing it up wi somebody, About fit part o life he liked best, Supin on a fusky, He’ll be haein a rare al time, Looking doon on ah oh us, And telling his pals “They’re mine” But granda were doon here greeting, Cause we miss you afa much, I wish you were somewhy closer, Somewhere we could stay in touch, But although we cannae reach you, That disna mean you’re gone, Cause you’re everywhere now in this room, In the hearts of everyone, Granda I really love you, And I’ll miss you the rest of my life, So goodbye from me, your family, Your friends and from our wife.
