Charlie came into our lives when he was around 10 years of age when he and his family transferred from Hanover Street School to Kirkhill Primary. This, then, for 60 years he was our dear special friend going on to Kaimhill Secondary and then for some of us to Hazlehead Academy in 1970. During this time Life boys and Boys Brigade followed and many games of football in our field in Arbroath Way. Further education and Work Years followed and many reunions and fun along the way and we would need hundreds of pages to tell all tales but all tales cannot be told lol. Charlie loved life and was a "mans man" but a loving man to all his family and friends who he doted on and vice versa. He loved the Grill and Bridge Bar and the old Queens Hotel on a Sunday night. His care for all shone through was when he represented Labour and was a Councillor for many years. Many years in London as Union Official for BT followed and his love for Labour, Aberdeen FC and Scotland stood out. We look forward to his celebration of life next week where we can honour our special friend and say goodbye to a man we loved so much-He will not be forgotten. Charlie may the wind be always at your back. We love you. Tom Cummings and all his school friends and others of over 60 years
