BAIN (Strachan) Peacefully after a short illness, at ARI, on Sunday, June 30, 2019, William (Bill) Bain, aged 84 years, beloved husband of Moira, much loved dad of Russell and Fraser, father-in-law of Amy and Lee, loving Ga-Ga of Alexander, Katie and Cameron. Funeral service at Baldarroch Crematorium, Crathes, on Wednesday, July 17, at 1pm. All friends respectfully invited. No flowers please. Donations in lieu, if desired may be given at the chapel in aid of Friends of Anchor and D.A.W.G.S.

Whiskey and Coca-Cola?!

I've had the pleasure of knowing Bill for almost 13 years, and one of my favorite memories is still his reaction to me ordering a Jack and Coke when we were out to dinner one night. In true Scot form, he expressed incredulity at the idea of mixing whiskey with coke. Even when trying to express the difference with bourbon and it's standard pairing, the entire concept was so foreign to him, and always makes me smile. I was so fortunate and grateful to be able to recently visit Aberdeen and share another meal with him. Bill was always such a kind, caring man that showed such interest in mine and my wife, Shawn's life, even with the distance between us. He will be dearly missed by us both. Our deepest love and condolences to the extended Bain family. -The English Family(US)
