SMITH (Birnie) John Smith has hung up his crampons and died peacefully, at home, on Friday, 11 January, 2019, aged 74, after a courageous two year battle with motor neurone disease. His wife Pat was at his side. There will be no funeral, John has donated his body for research to M. N. D. At his request the family will arrange a party to celebrate his life.
