MACLEOD Peacefully at the Highland Hospice on June 14, 2018, John Macleod (Iain Uisdean), Tigh-Na-Drochaidh, Daviot, Inverness, aged 77 years, formerly of Linicro, Skye. Much loved husband and best friend to Annie, dearly loved father of Hugh, Alasdair, Ruairidh and Kay, adored papa to all his grandchildren and a loving brother and uncle. Funeral service on Friday, June 22, at 1.00p.m. in Smithton Free Church, thereafter to Daviot Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only. Donations gratefully received for the Highland Hospice at the service or please forward to William T. Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness.

The word legend is greatly overused these days but in Johns case it’s apt. A great man who once upon a time took a chance on an an angry teenager who had home issues and made him realise he was worth something. He stuck his neck on the line for me and I will never forget that. I can say I would not be the person I am today if not for John. For that I will be eternally grateful. Thank you John. Rest in peace
