Leave your Tribute

Peter Tiffin

21 February 2018
The shock and sadness felt by your death continues to affect us all. How fondly, though, we will remember your contributions to our cycle rides as you eagerly discussed the latest narratives from the worlds of football and politics. We will also recall your idiosyncratic approach to puncture repairs when stalks of grass appeared to be perfectly serviceable! Our forthcoming trip to Majorca which, of course, should have involved you, will have an air of emptiness and loss to it. However, we will look to commemorate your wonderful life with a fitting tribute from the elegant and stylish Socrates, footballer and captain of the extraordinary Brazilian team of 1982. “Beauty comes first. Victory is secondary. What matters is joy.” Alan, thank you from all your cycling friends for the joy that you brought us.
