MELVINPeacefully at Tor-na-Dee Care Home, Milltimber on Monday, August 28, 2017, Veronique Valerie (Vivi) Melvin, aged 91 years, only daughter of William and Margaret Melvin. Dearly loved by her many friends, especially the late Jean Cochran and by her former colleagues at Voluntary Service Aberdeen. Service at Aberdeen Crematorium East Chapel on Tuesday, September 12, at 1pm, to which all friends are warmly invited. Resting at Wm Gilchrist, Funeral Directors, Rose Street, Aberdeen. If so desired, donations in memory of Vivi may be made at the Crematorium to Voluntary Service Aberdeen or to VSA, Castle Street, Aberdeen. AB11 5YU.

I send this from us both, Alastair and Norma. Norma is unable to do so or to attend this service. We have known Vivi most of our lives. Norma from the time they both worked together in Aberdeen, London and Edinburgh.
Norma cried when the sad news arrived. She was our bridesmaid 59 years ago and we kept in touch during our travels. We remembered our later visits to Aberdeen. Vivi had great tolerance of human foibles and we would enjoy a laugh with her and Jean when Vivi related over a glass of wine daft things that had happened since we last met. There was always great laughter with Vivi and that is how she will be remembered today.
