THOMSON (Fraserburgh) Peacefully, at Fraserburgh Hospital, on Saturday, August 27, 2011, Lenniken Sandison Thomson (Lenny), aged 76, beloved husband to Jane (Jenny), dearly loved dad to Diane, Linda and Heather, granda to Steven, Kevin, Laura and Philip and great-granda to Noah. Service in A. Buchan & Son's Funeral Chapel, Denmark Street, Fraserburgh, on Thursday, September 1, at 1.30 p.m., thereafter to Kirkton Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, but donations if desired, at chapel door, for Anchor Unit.

Lenny was my very first sergeant when as an Aberdeen loon I was wrenched from the big city and deposited in the the coldest police station on earth. I'll never forget those brief few months that i spent at fraserburgh and for the welcome, friendship and reassurance that I got from the best burgh sergeant in the world. From making sure I had settled into Mrs Buchans digs to learning to cope with the antics of my new tutor constable Brian Roskell (Bob Sinclair having retired). Lenny was there. U never forget your first sergeant. When we met years later at the time of the Peterhead Prison riots we talked of old times of characters like Dennis Dingwall and Liam Brennan. I joined Grampian Police in November 1976 and retired after having been injured on duty in 1991 my thoughts are with all members of his family at this sad time Scot
